Happy Thanksgiving

Image
selfie before heading out on a cold night tracting Celebrating our  Zone leader's  bday at Taco El Rey Dear family,  I've learned so much this week honestly and it's been a tremendous experience. God has given me these 2 years to learn how I can be happy. Sometimes I have to feel sad to know how I can learn this but it's worth it. Following the Savior is worth it. In my personal studies this week, I've been blessed and enjoyed learning about the Sons of Helaman in the Book of Mormon. This is my favorite scripture that I've taken from my studies. 39 And those sons of the people of Ammon, of whom I have so highly spoken, are with me in the city of Manti; and the Lord has supported them, yea, and kept them from falling by the sword, insomuch that even one soul has not been slain.  40 But behold, they have received many wounds; nevertheless they stand fast in that liberty wherewith God has made them free; and they are strict to remember the ...

Meet Elder Nunez

Image
Me and my new companion, Elder Nunez Dear Family, This week has been great though a little strange without my trainer! It's been a great experience so far leading the area, carrying more of the burden as far as planning goes(who to visit, what streets to tracked, and etc.) because Elder Nunez just got here. The more days go by the more I realize how weak I am. Often times, I think  that nothing else then perfect will do, nothing less then a perfect question during a lesson, or the perfect house to knock on, or the perfect response/testimony to a person's comment; however, whenever I think about this I realize I am just the very imperfect messenger that possesses the perfect messenger the holy Ghost- and the only thing I need to do is listen. This is very helpful to remember because earlier this week it seemed like everything started to go wrong(no idea what I was doing, had to prepare for a talk during church, and a lesson during priesthood, our area books got locked in th...

A text from Luz Wilson in Moses Lake

Mothers are everywhere Tonight, while cuddling with the kiddos on the couch and watching a John Wayne movie, I received a recording via a text from the Branch President's wife, Sister Wilson in Moses Lake.   The recording was of Elder Rigby testifying of the Savior (Sister Wilson translated it for me) and then she shared this about Elder Rigby, "Your son is a great missionary- one of our family favorites.  He speaks from his heart and has a strong spirit.  We had him for dinner last Sunday and he was amazing.  I had a non member friend over with her two daughters and we were going around the table asking the missionaries what they were going to study after their missions. Elder Rigby's companion, Elder Sanchez said he wanted to be a teacher then Elder Rigby said he liked history and very smoothly he shared how he wanted to be a leader like those in the scriptures, and he shared a scripture about King Benjamin.  It was amazing. We also had the other two m...
