Hey stockton! I imagine it is very hard for you to not be on the court. I KNOW. I am not joking:) that all the struggles you've had this last year are going to enable you to be so much more able to help others. Christ is able to stenghten us because he knows what we've gone through. There are people that you are preparing to help right now. I love you Stockton. I'm so proud of you!

Mom and Dad! I'm having a great time! I love you both! Mom I'm so glad you are finding these girls! keep it up! Dad I hope you get feeling better! Dad I would much appreciate it if you took some time to write a note to Sergio just to inspire him to keep going! You're great at that! I did not get the package yet. I would like to come back and do road trip because I want to hug everyone!
I am loving the focus of the Book of Mormon. I took the counsel from zone conference and it led me to a talk dad had sent me- President Nielson's talk on the book of Mormon. I have taken my studies to the Book of Mormon and chapter 5 of preach my gospel. To this point I have listed scriptures, primarily in 1 Nephi that teach us how the Book of Mormon teaches us how we can overcome our struggles my favorite is 1nephi 2:20...
And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper, and shall be led to a land of promise; yea, even a land which I have prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands.
God has great things prepared for those that love him and therefore do his will in his way!
Over the last week we have met many people with many varying beliefs(Native, Christian, Catholic) many of them have spoken that as long as you "believe" then you are doing what it takes to get to heaven. This has caused me to again take my question of the soul to the Book of Mormon-why is there so much confusion in the world?
29 And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou seest—because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God—because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them.
I am learning how we come to know the truth of the Book of Mormon as we use it to answer the questions of our soul.
some of the questions I will look for this week in order to help others with the similar questions are...
Why have I faced anxiety?
Why is it hard to find light even when we're trying?
Why do some people face certain trial and others know?
Why do some people come to an awful home while others do not?
I feel President Monson's promise being fufilled. I feel that I am being more receptive of the spirit and faith is casting out doubt and fear. As I was listening to the other elders give their good by testimonies during zone conference, I felt a great desire to be able to strengthen my knowledge of the divinity of the Book of Mormon.
Elder Rodriguez seems to doing well. What I've noticed is I express myself very well. Other people, such as Elder Rodriguez, are more difficult to read:) We are getting along very well and the success and miracles that God gives to us daily is helping!
Sergio and Mariah
They have their marriage certificate and the sisters of the ward are helping them incredibly with the planning of the Wedding. The oldest boy of the family-David(8) is on date for baptism as well for the 24th of Febuary. Sergio was feeling pretty ill on saturday. We gave him a blessing that described how this would be proof that God is helping him and he came to church the next day and bore powerful testimony of how he knows this church is true! a memory came to my mind of how I was told by the spirit that God was going to show to me how he can change people and he is.
The obstacles that lie a head are
1. smoking
2. still not praying together as a family
3.The lord is blessing them with schooling and the wedding; therefore, they are very busy and finding less time to read
Very excited to help them answer their questions of the soul with the Book of Mormon and help Sergio with the stop smoking program alll will turn out great!
David and Priscilla Munoz Family
We met with him twice this week and he was going to come to church but he had to go into work to fix a tractor. we are going to teach he, his wife, his kids, and possibly his shaker mother in-law tonight at the church!
Seferina Padilla and family
Our good friend Seferina fell off the earth! we have to find her!
Esther and Gabriel
The couple that we found and are teaching are still going through marital problems but Esther is turning to God because she knows he can help her!
Rubi and her kids Ryan and Emily
Didn't come to church because alarm was in a different room:( She is reading the Book of Mormon and she feels that it teaches her how she can overcome her struggles. She saids that she knows it's true!
Problem
she has a boyfriend; nevertheless, we are needing some priesthood holders in the branch!
Perla Reyes(20's)
The sunnyside sisters were teaching Perla and she recently moved to granger. She has a heart of Gold. I feel a little sad for the sisters because she is incredible. She came to church!....but because she struggles with mental illness(bipolar) she seemed to get little rest last night and was not able to stay for the whole 3 hours. The members are rallying around her and she is going to bring a great spirit to the Branch! What a blessing!
Oscar and Ana
We met the sister of a referal-Ana and her husband oscar. Oscar is going through some financial difficulties but he is so willing to learn more because he needs the help. Ana is a little hesitant but we know that we can help her come to know the truthfullness of the restoration through answering her questions of the soul
Jilberto and Mariah
last night at 8:45 we were knocking doors and after we were able to assure them that we weren't drunk and they didn't need to be afraid of us we were able to have a conversation of the restoration and how the Book of mormon answers our question of the soul-where do we go after we die! It was amazing to have a tracting miracle

Hma cenizeros
While we were tracting one rainy night we felt like we needed to talk to the people that recently got out of their car. We met Hermana Cenizeros. She recently had surgery, moved from Terrace Heights, and wants to get her testimony back! Beautiful Miracle!
Hma Torres
Hermana Torres is truly grabbing hold of the gospel and striving to read her scriptures and help her husband! I absolutely love her! I will probably call her every week when the sad time comes that I go home. Her LA husband has come 2 times to church the last 2 weeks.
Philip and his 4 kids and 3 nephews
we met phillip a few weeks ago and we were finally able to teach him and 7 kids! It was fun! they are all very excited to learn but because of the hesitance of him and his oldest son. It's difficult. One thing I've noticed is that the Native culture is very different from the white and hispanic culture and we need to learn to adjust. It's a very sensitive situation. I know some of the cinnamon rolls that the housing coordinators brought over will really open up their hearts
District report
we hit a record of 30 nI this week! I am loving being District leader! It's fun with all the people God has given me to help I'm having a blast!
