Christmas Day 2016

Image
Dear Family, This week has been wow just grand. It's sad to see the Christmas season go. I loved being able to share with everyone-members, investigators and random citizens the "good tidings of great joy!" It was a little bit "easier" to share the message of Christ through Christmas but the good thing is we as missionaries testify of Christ all the time so Christmas lasts a bit longer!  Stopping to help a lady on the side of the road Christmas night Testify, testify, testify, and then give them cookies-We made 125 cookies to deliver Christmas dinner at Sister Wettle's house This week while in the beautiful sacrament meeting we had in the Brewster Branch I sat pondering on the these good tidings of Great Joy. The scriptures emphasize over and over this joy that comes from living the gospel. The truth is I haven't been completely feeling all this joy; therefore, I must not be living the gospel completely. Then the spirit spoke to me and

Hola! Feliz Navidad! espero que todo esta bien y ustedes estan difrutando este tiempo hermosa del ano Hello! Merry Christmas I hope all is well and you are enjoying this beautiful time of year! I'm doing very well! I was pretty sad to leave Moses Lake-all the people I love: The (9th Branch, and Investigators past and present-ecspeacialy my good friend Oscar. It was an incredible experience leaving my home and going to Moses Lake-I consider Moses Lake my second home! Love you Elder Nunez! Moses Lake became my 1st 2nd home Bridgeport is soooo cold but I am truly loving the type of people that live here. 90% of the people we meet in the tiny town of Bridgeport speak spanish and work in the outlining apple orchards. They work 10 hours a day even in this freezing weather. It's been a pleasure to get to know some of them. They are so grateful for everything they have. One of the things that strike me most is how even when they have to get up super early to go to wor

Hey Family! This was my last week in Moses. I've been reflecting on what I've learned and what lies ahead. It has been a tremendous blessing to spend 4 months here. I've made new friends, overcome challenges, and began to know my Savior.  The more I understand who he is the more I know I don't truly know him; however, it's a process that takes a lifetime and I'm overjoyed to say these four months have brought me closer to him than any other time in my life! I know that this has come through prayer. I was reading in Moroni 7 this morning and it describes really what these last 4 months have been for me This is Brother Dominguez.  He'd always put his arm around me. My companion, Elder Nunez  and I Branch Christmas party.  Hermana Cataline de leon (on my left).  She fed me my first  day of the mission.  She teared up when I said was going to leave. Mission Christmas party I shared with the mission how we have Christ

A picture from Sister Wilson Dear Bro and Sister Rigby and Family, As my Husband was recently called as the Branch President where your son is serving, we are getting to know your amazing son!  as a convert of many years ago myself, I'm very grateful for, and mindful of the Lord's missionaries.  He is well, war, and faithful!  I've been so impressed by Elder Rigby's diligence and sincere service to our branch members and their friends.  A month ago, my first Sunday at the Branch, your son's testimony really touched my heart.  He was sincere, his heart full, his Spanish very good, and his love of the Lord shown in his countenance.  I told myself, "That is a great missionary!" Last evening we had the privilege and blessing of having 6 missionaries over for dinner, including your son.  As we listed to the Elders as they sought counsel from my husband, I was so very impressed with Elder Rigby's depth of patience, strength of testimony, and his l

Hey everyone! I hope all is well with you and you are having a great day! Today my heart is joyed with the opportunity to serve a mission it is a gift for me! Everyday I wake up and by the time I go to bed I'm a little bit better. The successes and the failures throughout the day of following my savior and stumbling as I give way to the natural man teach me who I should not be and who I must be to help those who are sad. This who process is helping me come to know Jesus Christ. I'm very imperfect but I'm making progress thanks to him. I've been studying and pondering on the words of Elder Bednar's talk "if ye had known me" The phrases “Ye never knew me” and “Ye know me not” should be a cause of deep spiritual introspection for each of us. Do we only know about the Savior, or are we increasingly coming to know Him? How do we come to know the Lord? I still need to learn so much more but I know as we give the best we have to follow Christ we wi

11/28/16 Dear Family! made a bunch of goodies for some less actives and investigators.  Mom, thanks for the muffin mix- they loved them!  I hope you are all having a great day! This week has been a week of learning-just like any other week here on the mission but I've begun to learn a very valuable lesson. Obedience   41  And  moreover,  I  would  desi re  that  ye  should  consider  on  the  blessed  and  happy  state  of   those  that  keep  the  commandme nts  of  God.  For  behold,  they  a re  blessed  in  all  things,  both   temporal  and  spiritual;  and  i f  they  hold  out  faithful  to  th e  end  they  are  received  into  h eaven ,  that  thereby  they  may  d well  with  God  in  a  state  of  ne ver-ending  happiness.  O  rememb er,  remember  that  these  things   are  true;  for  the  Lord  God  ha th  spoken  it. This is true I have been blessed so much this week by putting a active effort towards being perfectly obedient and we have seen miracles
